The Chicago White Sox made a pair of roster moves involving pitchers ahead of Wednesday's series finale against the Minnesota Twins. As left-hander Jared Shuster returns to the big-league club, right-hander Prelander Berroa heads to Triple-A Charlotte.
Berroa's first White Sox stint was short as he appeared in just one game after being recalled from Charlotte on Sunday. The hard-throwing righty tossed a third of an inning in Tuesday's loss to mop up Jordan Leasure's mess in the eighth.
Shuster began the year with Charlotte before providing two effective long-relief outings for the White Sox in early April. Despite his 1.42 ERA across 6.1 innings, the southpaw returned to Triple-A on April 16.
Shuster owns a 6.39 ERA in 12.2 innings for the Knights, but that figure was inflated by a rough seven-run outing in his season debut. He hasn't allowed more than one run in each of his two outings since returning to the minors.
The White Sox look to avoid a sweep in Wednesday's series finale against the Twins. Chris Flexen will start for the South Siders and Bailey Ober will take the ball for Minnesota. First pitch is at 1:10 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
